A&D UC-324NFC Weight Scale:
I didn’t like any picture frames out there. Existing picture frame is small (around 7-10″) and screen quality is low.
After doing a little research, I chose Android Mini PC because:
– Low power
– Highly customizable
– Lot of apps
However, there are a lot of android mini PCs: MK802, MK802 III, MK802 III S, MK808, Uhost, Uhost 2, ATV120, Minix Neo G4…
2 final choices were Uhost 2 & MK802 III S.
I chose Uhost2 since it supports exFAT, soft power off…
Broadcom scores another win with NFC chip in Samsung Galaxy S4.
At this time, I don’t know if S4 has standalone or combo chip. It appears that S4 has Broadcom 20794S1A chip, which is standalone NFC chip.
I have been working NFC controller for awhile.
But I didn’t have it in my personal phone until last week when I upgraded from Galaxy S2 to S3, which has NFC.
I was like a little kid, going around find tags & credit cards to read.
Yes, credit card. “Chip and Pin” credit card to be exact, not US mag stripe credit card (unless you have Chase Blink or Amex card).
I found 2 apps on Google Play enabling me to read “Chip and Pin” credit card. One of them is Electronic Pickpocket RFID.
This app will not help thieves steal. This app only shows part of your account number as a precaution.
(The other one is very technical & hard to read, so I don’t want to mention it here.)
Here is my experience:
– Very close range !!! (< 1 inches). Almost touching the card.
– Need few seconds to read the card.
– Take several tries to get a good read (due to antenna issue of S3 ?)
Given the limitations above, so your credit card is still safe from consumer NFC phone.
I’ve received my new Trekpod Go Pro, which is the coolest tripod to date.
I used to own Trekpod Go and used it everywhere. I used it on my vacation to shoot scenery with me & wife in it. I used it for wedding shoot where tripod is heavy to move around in a dynamic wedding environment.
So I’m excited to get the new Trekpod Go Pro since Trek-tech made a lot of improvements to the Trekpod Go such as bigger ball head, better MagMount…
